Jacko.MY Before & After

Oh~ Finally I am back!!

Although it's a long weekend because of Merdeka, but I didn't really get a big chunk of time in one shot to blog more. Due to "overdraft" of my zZzZzZ time in the past few days, I gotta claim it back. Then, gotta wake up early like working day for a fun event (Haha!! Those people now should learn how "snake" Jacko is :P Wanna fool me, not so easy man!!) but somehow I managed to squeeze some time here and there to do R&D on some enhancements for the Jacko.MY.

Oh, of course it's not enhancement over my body shape lah... The blog title may be misleading like the Marie France's advertisement like this...

I didn't mean to mislead and I don't think I needed one, I am just nice to be a cutie piggy :P However, if any of you wanna sponsor me for a slimming program, feel free to contact me, I am more than happy to take the offer. Haha!

Okay okay, less nonsense, let's look at what "before" and what "after" Jacko.MY went through.

Let's go by the footer... Before...

Then in revolution progress... Hmm... Neat but too texty...

After...

So now, you can scroll to the bottom of each post, there is a BOOKMARK button. Hover your mouse cursor to it, a drop down will appear like shown above. You can bookmark the post online using the bookmark service you have registered, or click on More... for more services like technorati, multiply and so forth. Such bookmark is not really a bookmark like your browser favorites, it's more like a social bookmark that you share with others a good site and hence promote the site to the rest of the world. I will thank you if you bookmark with any of the services especially the digg.com, del.icio.us or technorati. 'cause you are indirectly promoting Jacko.MY to others. Thank you, ribuan terima kasih, nandri, kam sia, 谢谢, arigatoo gozaimas. I wanted to do more customization but there is bug in the script, let's see if the technical support responds to my email.

The second Before...

After... Can see the difference?

Here's the magic...

Usually when there is a link in the post, you will need to click on it to go to the linked page or site to see what is it. With this snapshot feature, just point your cursor to the balloon tip beside the link, you will have a live snapshot of the linked page or site. Cool huh? Of course you can still click on the link if you want. I believe this may practically be useful, you don't really have to visit the site, for instance, a link to wikipedia page where you can read the page directly on Jacko.MY. Also, you can point to the photo to get a bigger display. If you want bigger snapshot, click on the wheel icon at the top right edge, change the setting and refresh Jacko.MY.

The last Before for now...

After...

No special feature to readers, but a branding effort for Jacko.MY. JK aka JacKo. ;)

Let's see if there's any other things I can do to improve further...

Pork Rib Rice

It was just as usual as you pee and fart, just another lunch during the weekday. However, it has been long that I had not lunch together with my so called mom in-law. MIL has been extreme busy after her conversion, not Barisan to Pakatan coversion but contractor to regular employee conversion. Not that contractor has easy life and enjoy more than regular employee (it should be the other way right?), but MIL has different principal to hold, a regular employee must commit to work more than contractor especially she is a de facto leader of a team! :P

So how could I refuse when MIL asked for lunch after almost 2 months, and isn't it the responsibility of a son in law to take the MIL to where she wanted to go and what she wanted to eat? Moreso to my favourite porkie stall. Hehe...

Look at the
char siew or sweeten roasted BBQ pork side by side hanging with the roasted chicken...

And don't miss out the shy-shy
sio bak roasted pork hiding at the back...

Drooling? I was when I was taking photos.

Ladies and gentlemen, let's start your engine, your stomach engine.

While waiting for the dishes to reach the table, let's start the lunch with the "soup of the day". Look at the ingredients, never compromise the quality and taste even the soup is free...

DIY like the chick in the photo, and variety sizes of bowls for you to select, up to your stomach room. So take as much as you can. But don't be greedy, make sure you can finish the amount you take...

Here are the dishes. 2 hungry hands, one on
char siew and the other on sio bak and look at different sizes of the soup bowl...

Closer look. 3 distinct layers of crispy skin, thin layer of fat and flesh...

Same goes to char siew, crispy outer part and juicy inner flesh...

Did you realize there was a boned
char siew underneath the normal char siew? That's actually the signature dish of the stall, the pork rib! Too bad, we reached early and the pork rib was still in making, thus I did not take the photo together with the char siew and roasted chicken, and here is the only photo I have, the pork rib lying on the tray...

We always be
kiasu when go there for lunch. 11:30am must leave the office, and 11:45am must be at the stall to avoid jam and to secure a parking lot and gotta wait for the pork rib to arrive at 12pm. If you go there after 12pm, good luck if you are driving. This was how crowded the small stall was at 12+pm. More crowding when pass 1pm...

You may notice that the stall has no name, it's located just below this inn...

Here's the map. The stall is hiding at the back streets behind Istana Hotel...

I Will Follow You

What strikes your mind when you first read the post title? Answer varies... but for Malaysian, perhaps few would be thinking about yellowish. Some may even start singing... I will follow you~ follow you wherever you may go~

Why
yellow? Is this song a yellow song? Let's reveal the truth...

Cool huh??

No, I am not marketing the
yellow man nor am I working for the company, nor am I the yellow man.

I still remember my very first phone was this little phone, back to 1997/8.

Not
yellow though, but blue. It came with a 2 year contract by DiGi. The yellow man wasn't born at that time. Upon the maturity of the contract, I switched over to another service provider. The one and only one reason was that provider was very advanced in technology among other service providers in Malaysia at that time.

On millenium, 1 Jan 2000 12:01am, I regretted. Simply, I was at KL area, SMS could not be sent, call could not be made and received while a bugger friend talking out loud happily beside me, wishing his friends one by one using his
016.

I wanted to switch over but my 012 number has been well "advertised" to auntie(姨)-mom(妈)-auntie(姑)-sister(姐), 3rd(三)-aunt(姑)-6th(六)-grandma(婆) and pig(猪)-friend(朋)-dog(狗)-buddy(友), so it's not a wise decision to do so. I dreamt to have the number
follow me wherever I may go~.

Finally, my dream comes true. The long-neck waiting announcement from the beloved G, the Mobile Number Portability. How many years I've waited? 8 years?! Not bad what, our the then DPM waited 10 years to be back to the House, I am 2 years shorter. Hehe...

Soon I will be able to...
Tak nak! to overpriced services and unattractive package by the provider...

Perhaps I shall pick 916 or 16 Sep 08 to switch over, in conjuction with the possible political cross over. Hehe...

Yellow man, I shall be coming...

Always the smarter choice.

Email Subscription, Alternate to RSS

After the RSS, I found myself getting more and more serious into such business. There is an animated layout of RSS subscribe link compared to the static one that I have on the right, it looks like this...

* Blink blink *

Hmmm... but my preference is still the current one after few attempts to add the animated widget, it just couldn't blend into the page.

On the other hand, I believe not many people (at least those I know) is on RSS. Meaning, they don't use any RSS Reader to subscribe to blogs, news, web sites etc. So I tried to look for alternative, perhaps email subscription which is more common than the RSS. And here's the result... or look at your right...

Now anyone can subscribe using email. Any updates will be sent to your email address like any ordinary email. Better huh? One draw back is, if you have many subscriptions on other sites, you drop another email into your inbox.

RSS Feed

Although I don't really care that I failed the exam and not really plan to success (who knows in future), but how could jacko be so lousy, scoring only 15 out of 100??!! Since kid till now, I never be in the last position!! NEVER!! And EVER!! Fuuyoh!! This si kiasu getting more furious, seem getting higher blood pressure not higher score!! Haha...

So I tried to make a little improvement from time to time to score better. But the ultimate objective is to learn more about Web 2.0 for the sake of my current work assignment.

I mentioned earlier that I enabled the RSS, namely the Atom (in fact, it's enabled by default but I reconfigured it a little), but does anyone know how to use that and where to find the link to subscribe? Frankly, I myself had difficulty to locate the link. It's actually at the bottom of www.jacko.my... Did you ever see it??

Not really visible and encouraging. I tried to add a widget or chicklet on the right so it's more friendlier to subscribe to www.jacko.my.

The widget available from Blogger.com looks like this...

Err... too many options, confusing...

I wanted something simpler and one-click at first sight. Therefore, I spent a little more time to look into other options and found out feedburner.com was acquired by Google, meaning that it's in the same family with Blogger. In other words, feedburner = blogger.com = blogsport.com = Google --> no compatibility issue! And coincidentally I picked the right option previously to redirect my Atom feed to feedburner! ;)

So here you go...

Click on it to subscribe. Select your RSS reader and you're done!

If you are using Outlook 2007 as your default RSS Reader, click View Feed XML.

If you are using IE7, click on the toolbar or press ALT-J when you are at www.jacko.my.

If you using Firefox 3, click on the right of the address bar.

If you don't know what the heck I am talking about RSS Feed, read this simple 101. Still don't know, I can't help, but please make appointment with doctor to have a scan on your head. :p

More to come...

Meals During Labuan Trip

This post supposed to be out long ago, but I oversighted and thought I had posted, it was saved as draft.

A sign of getting old??? Sigh~

Not all meals and dishes, but few yummier and rare meals (not easily get in KL)...

Meals @ Labuan

Thai Spicy-Sour Lala
My very first meal in P. Labuan @ 33 or Double Three Restaurant (why not 23?).
GPS: N5 16.663 E115 14.732

How could I miss the cheap beer in Labuan? My favorite white beer...

Thai sour-spicy
lala. Very fresh and fleshy, it's bigger than usual lala I eat in KL.

Look at it, cover almost half the spoon!

Taman Sin Tee's Makcik Chicken Wing & Satay
GPS: N5 17.528 E115 13.572

The price and contact... RM1.40 each. Let's see if price increases if I revisit...

Wings and satay in making... Look at
makcik's serious face, very committed to produce tasty chicken wings. Hehe...

Yummy!

Add on
cucur udang bought from town center...
GPS: N5 16.738 E115 14.661

I didn't cook and eat this bloody cat. He was
pangsai-ing beside the table while I was enjoying the wings and satay!!

Meals @ KK
At this restaurant... with 4 rows of live seafood.
GPS: N5 58.638 E116 04.437

Deep sea crab. The 甘香 taste different from KL, it's cooked with coconut...

Scallop, RM1 for each! Such size would cost minimum RM5 each in KL!

Wine from Labuan...

On another meal with friend's friends.
This was good! Sweet & sour lamb, like 排骨王 in KL but it's lamb...

The elephant trunk clam... Before...

After....

Oriental shell 东方螺 like KL's
balitong but size a lot bigger...

Overall, the food not exceptionally tasty (few yes) but seafood there was very fresh and cheap compared to KL...
