Restoran Malaysia

Merdeka!

Turn 52 years old on today! Not me but my country. We have 1Malaysia and we have 15Malaysia (click the banner on the right). Many has been named whatever Malaysia recently but this restaurant has been there for long...

The yellow board. Can you see it? Restoran Malaysia. A closer look...

Very simple, just Malaysia. This restaurant must be serving food that Malaysian likes, regardless race and skin color. Look at the menu...

They serve Malaysian's favorite seafood and the most famous is...

The stuffed crab!! *Drooling*

Let's peep into the kitchen...

The founder of Restoran Malaysia. The restaurant is now run by the second generation, his son who is busy cooking. Where is the mom?

Oh, she is preparing our order, the stuffed crab! First, stuff the crab meat then cover it with the egg white foam...

Before I move out, one thing to highlight here...

See how white and clean the wall tiles are. No webs at the edge of the wall and no spiders no lizards no flies!

After a short wait, the crab is served...

It's so delicious!!! Within seconds, the crab shell is empty and can be turned back to the position a crab supposed to be...

Poor crab and the poor fish at the back. This was the fish...

And prawns...

Since it's quite rare to visit this restaurant in regular basis, we ordered another plate of crabs as "desserts"...

Where is this restaurant? Give you a hint...

Ya, it's in Chukai,Terengganu...

It's on the same road Jalan Sulaimani with Hai Peng Kopitiam, right opposite a big parking, namely Parking Chukai in MFM. It' not in MFM map and you can find another restaurant just few shops away selling the same thing. As far as I know, Restoran Malaysia was the first and the founder's hard works were imitated by other restaurants. So go try the "original" stuffed crab at Restoran Malaysia, it's truly a Malaysian restaurant that you can find eaters from all races...

Here's the business hour...

AcBel Power King

Power is one of the crucial factors when deciding a netbook. My Wind was one of the early models when netbook started to flood the market. Comparing it to other recent models, it's shameful to say that its battery dies after a mere 2 hours whereas others can easily survive as long as 10 hours. So I have no choice to bring the power adapter along with my Wind whenever I am mobile.

Since I usually travel on business class when I am on business trip, I have the convenience to use my Wind for long hours as the seat comes with a power outlet. And I damaged the power brick when I was flying back from Houston...

Notice the little bump? It was my mistake that I did not know the wire was stuck beneath the seat and I pulled it too hard till the wire got disconnected from the soldered joint in the power brick. I needed to push the wire towards the adapter whenever I need to charge the Wind and gradually the wire got swollen after pushes and could never charge anymore. RIP.

I did not wait until the power brick hold its last breath, I had been searching high and low a replacement immediately after I returned home from the trip. I called up local MSI distributor and dealer, I was quoted around RM120 for a replacement. I don't think it's a good price after searching few online sites such as here and I could get a universal one, one can charge universally all laptops and perhaps my next netbooks rather than get the replacement from MSI that only capable to charge Wind, some more the alternative is at cheaper price. This was something perfect to me taking into the account of price, universality (to charge different brands) and its size. However it takes 7+ days to reach my doorstep and I doubt the struggling adapter could last that long. So on the next day, I went to Low Yat hoping to find that but failed, eventually I found another one...

The AcBel Power King Universal Notebook Adapter and its specification...

Compare to MSI original power brick that I posted earlier...

It's 1V lesser than MSI original, but the output amp is double, from 2A to 3.95A. Plus, this universal adapter has the "overclock" feature...

I am not an electrician nor am I a good student to remember what I learned in school, but I used the simple W = V x A formula, original MSI power brick can deliver 20V x 2A = 40W whereas this adapter is rated 65W = 19V x 3.42A or be overclocked to deliver additional 10W, so I believe it should perform well to re-energize my Wind.

Since it's universal, it's compatible with quite a number of notebooks including the "potential" brand for my next netbook...

Plus a 3 years warranty...

Unboxed the package...

A black traveler bag, the user manual which repeats what is printed on the box, the power cable, the brick / adapter and 9 different tips to make it a universal power adapter. Again, re-verify the power rating on the brick...

Just like what printed on the box. Let's compare the size with MSI original brick...

It's only slightly longer than MSI's, good size to be a travel charger. And the weight is about the same. In addition, I felt the wire quality is better than MSI's one with its solid feel and it's also thinner...

The one on the left with cable tight is the new wire.

Now I have to pick the right tip...

The green colored tip should fit. Let's plug it in...

Cool! It's charging my Wind that has been in "coma" for 2 days!! Errr... Not really cool as it warms up when charging, the heat level is similar to the heat generated by original brick.

This is the other thing I like about this adapter...

Compare to MSI's original brick...

Which protrudes out no matter how you align it.

I bought it at RM99 from one of the stores in Low Yat. Most of the stores tag the same price so you don't have to really look for cheaper price, unless you walk to Imbi Plaza which is RM4 cheaper at the store that I bought my Wind. I have been using it for a month plus and is happy with it.

Soccernet.com Mistake!!

Glory! glory!

Yeah, Man U is back on track!! MU have just beaten Arsenal 2 - 1 at Old Trafford!! Though, few controversies in the game but the final score is the only decider. Congrats to Liverpool too who also came from behind to beat Bolton. I don't have any Chelsea supporter friend, so no need to congrats here. :P

As usual, I went online to read the final report even though I watched the game. And I spotted a mistake by soccernet.com...

It's interesting to spot mistake like this, just like what I spotted previously on blogger.com. Hmmm... The author could be someone anti MU or Arsenal fan.

Soccernet, please correct it!!

Mango Juice Blog

It's very rare to get Malaysian hawkers online. I mean to setup their own website or blog to promote their food. This is also true for restaurants too, you can only find handful of them with website. Even they have, the site is likely to be static html pages or with many java script errors.

This one is exception...

Joe's Only One Mango Juice stall. The other angle of shot for clearer URL...

http://onlyonemangojuice.blogspot.com. It's actually too long to type.

I discovered this stall at Portuguese Settlement when I was in Melaka for a treasure hunt. The boss impressed me with his raw materials, the raw mangoes and sour plums filled the table. I actually stood there to spy him if he added water or any artificial ingredients to make the juice tastier. NOT AT ALL! Only mangoes with sour plum!! Look at the juice...

And the sour plum is hiding underneath...

I just don't know how to describe the taste. I think I had 2 or 3 cups on that night. Go try it even if you are full, the sweetness and sourness of the juice will sure reopen your appetite.

Here is the location...

You can find it in MFM map, just search for Portuguese Settlement. Visit the blog too, with occasion updates, even more advance than Jacko.MY with Facebook link, Nuffnang etc.

Klang Digital Mall

Nowadays I seldom drive into the town due to constructions and rapid change of traffic flow in the town. My daily route is back and forth office and home, via either NKVE or Federal Highway. So I am out of clue what's happening in the town. However, I will still drive into the town occasionally if want to get some good food, cheap groceries or homewares or somethings you don't find it elsewhere.

On one of those days, I noticed the old wet market location that I used to frequent during kid time has been converted to become a Digital Mall...

This building was developed by one of my friends, his father's company to be precise. I knew the plan was to build an office building but did not know it's now a digital mall. Perhaps it's the trend just like the one in USJ 19.

After I've done my business, I made a lap to get back to the mall for a visit...

It's still free parking. But I would not recommend female to park inside if alone, even I was hesitated if I would get raped or my lovely FD2 would get molested.

Walked into the mall, I was welcomed with this...

Majority of the stores are still close. Worse, without the stripes like "renovation in progress" that I found in USJ 19 Digital Mall previously. Meaning, the shops are vacant and no business in plan.

Moved up and down 2 3 floors, only few shops were opened for business...

I don't know how long the mall has been in operations but certainly not worth a visit. I was looking for dual layer DVD-R but none of the shops sell! So don't waste your time to visit.

If you still want to lepak there for free air cond or simple stuff like mouse or CDR, it's at Jalan Pasar...
