I Have Followed Him

Not long ago I blogged about yellow man. Today, I finally yellowized myself after 8 years 11 months of waiting.

I was doing some personal matter at Amcorp Mall. On the way to car park, I walked pass this yellow shop...

I just asked my lunch mate if there is any branch in Low Yat and now I came across it without having to drive to another location.

As mentioned in my previous post and needless for me to explain more on my objective, this photo is self explanatory...

Got myself a how-to booklet to make sure I fully understood what the polite and smiley sales representative explained to me few minutes ago...

These are the 8 steps switch over process to be completed...

I know the photo is too blur to be read (while waiting my sponsored camera, thanks bro!), this link guides the same process. To me, only 4 simple steps:

1. Walk in any DiGi dealer shop.

2. Pick the plan/package that fits your usage.

3. Pay nothing but walkout with a new SIM card.

4. Wait your phone to show "Invalid Sim" or something similar and replace it with the new yellow SIM.

Done deal!

Several call plans available to fit different needs, from as low as RM20 per month!

Again, blur photo. But I think the best way is to visit the shop and talk to the sale representative to understand the differences between plans, though you can switch OTA (over the air).

Since these days I don't cook "phone porridge" and I have another phone, I signed up the cheapest call plan for monthly access fee of RM20 (charge per use) with most of the common value added services free of charge, add on unlimited data plan RM66 per month, a total of RM86 plus RM3 for itemized billing and 5% government tax (plus one-time stamp duty of RM10), almost identical to what I pay now for the lousy 012 Maxis call plan with each value added service chargeable from RM5 to RM10 plus 1sen per KB for the data (EDGE/3G) service.

And tell you a public secret, according to the sales representative, DiGi will be announcing their 3G on January of 2009! Moreover, unlike other lousy service providers that only able to provide 3G at selective areas, the sales representative told me that their aim is really similar to the yellow man ads concept, 3G yellow man would follow you wherever you may go, nationwide including Sabah and Sarawak. If this is true and DiGi does not revise the existing data plan rate, my plan would be the cheapest 3G data package among all! Shhh~ don't tell anyone about this. :P

Just before I committed to fill up the registration form, I had a test on DiGi's current EDGE network...

100kbps downlink and 33kbps uplink. A bit slow, but I think this is good enough for browsing internet.

Finally, I proceed to the registration counter...

By the time I finished my form, look at this...

There were already few other customers who came later than me but committed to switch over much earlier than me. Why? 'cause I read through the whole Terms and Conditions behind the form and the sales representative looked one kind at me. Hehe... :")

I begun day dreaming while waiting my registration to be processed online. I would be like the sarung ahpek, no more "mosquitoes" and save $$$...

And the TV commercial...

At last, my SIM pack is ready with detailed starter guide attached inside...

I love Savings? The wording/slogan looks like my favorite phone brand...

Oh, that reminds me I have another project to go. Any sponsor? Heehee... ;)

  2. Why should I be ashamed of paying for hiccup-free customer service and hassle-free user experience for 11 years? Doesn't it instead to be a shame on government to take 11 years to implement the MNP for mobile users like me to retain the full 10-digit number?
