Hasus Explore MTB Shoe

Hasus, a brand that might be still new to Malaysian riders but the company has been manufacturing OEM high end cycling shoes. I was attracted to its design when one of the riders was field testing it. A closer look on it, the built quality and the fitting were impressive, lighter and seemed perfect fit for Asian foots. After some survey and waiting for shipment, finally I got myself one pair...

More closer look after the break...

This is model HMS06 Black. Not a carbon sole but synthetic leather with carbon look. Cool huh? :) Check out the spec here

Some other features...

The buckle is replaceable with a screw away, so does the strap. The shoe is designed and manufactured in Taiwan, not the mainland like other brands. The difference? Unlike the Shimano I have where there's still some leftover stitches here and there especially inside insole, I took some thorough look over the stitches on Hasus and I really impressed with the quality (and consistency) for its price.

Now the crucial question that every rider will ask...

Quite a good weight comparing to the same range of shoes. Oh ya, I have yet to disclose the price but I guess I should not do so as I got it directly from the distributor. Perhaps the retail price is in the range like the Shimano M088 shown above, maybe cheaper? :)

I definitely give thumb ups to Hasus after a 22km offroad ride at FRIM today. My foots fit perfectly, snug in just like any other sport shoes. For Shimano, I have to buy one size bigger due to its narrow design (my Shimano M088 above is the wide model but still very narrow), the Hasus is exactly the same size like my sport shoes. Perfect size does make a difference, I felt so efficient in pedaling after a climb and a reverse at Steroid. The power transfer was so much better than the bigger sized Shimano. Plus, it's easier to unclip the shoes as well. A brief intro by Bicycling Australia further testifies my feedback on Hasus that the shoes are really designed for Asian foots.

Leave your email in comment if you're interested. May get a good price for Jacko.MY readers :) Or I will channel you to the distributor if you're keen to be reseller.
