Ceramic Pro Malaysia Review

When I first got my new CX-5, I was looking for a coating product that could protect the car paint, reduce car wash frequency, lowest maintenance (of the coat) ever required and ultimately the car will fetch higher resale value with show room condition after X years when I upgrade to another. In short, I just want my car to look clean and great all time. I do understand maintaining a car especially a dark color like black or dark blue is not an easy task. In contrary, I am a lazy butt and dislike waiting, wash car every week and sending it for wax and polish are time wasting efforts in my opinion. It should be minimized as much as possible, the time could be spent on something more meaningful.

I had a sealant product applied on my ex-lovely Civic FD2. The car looked great even after 8 years. See the photo after the break...

The only shortcoming was that the sealant wasn't meant to prevent swirl marks caused by car wash, the shop owner made this clear to me before I commit though.

Fast forward to present after 8 years, there are many products available in the local market here. Sealant, ceramic, flame, glass, nanotech, you name it. Some with very good marketing gimmicks, some claimed proven this and that but unable to show relevant proof when asked.

After reading through some reviews, with extra attention on the reviews shared after a year of using the said product, combined with my own study over the product specification, I took a plunge on Ceramic Pro that seemed to fulfill all my requirements above. One major factor was that Ceramic Pro is the only product that publicly displays its SGS certifications.

My car was 3 weeks out from the showroom when I drove into Ceramic Pro workshop in Sunway...

First step was to clean the paint surface after decided on the package (I selected Silver with interior coating)...

Followed by the thorough surface preparation to remove impurities...

Finally the coating procedure with infra red heat to expedite the molecular bonding process...

Now it's already 15th month of exposure on the road, let's look at the photos.

Newly out from showroom and before the coating treatment...

15 months after the treatment...

See the difference in color depth?

Now the video...

The SUV might look like it's well pampered and protected. I can swear it's not. This is my daily commute vehicle, it has been exposed to typical tropical weather, construction areas when I am on business trip, daily route passing thru MRT construction areas at Klang Valley, plus driving in thick haze condition in the south of Malaysia. In fact, it has been thrown into real life test. For instance, inconsiderate stupid Malaysian driver that scratched and dented the car body when exit the parking lot beside me. The 9H protection came to rescue, paint surface was well protected and the scratch was wiped off with a wet micro fiber cloth. The dent recovered itself after few days of parking under hot sun (the dent popped back to its original shape) before I was able to make time sending to dent repair in Puchong. Don't take my words as lifetime guarantee, I believe 9H protection helps in certain circumstances but obviously not all times. The car body would still damage if the object is harder than 9H such as sharp metal object.

Like I said, I love to see my car in prestige outlook but I am lazy and reluctant to spend time maintaining it (regular wax and polish). I must say I am very happy with Ceramic Pro 9H protection. The glossiness and its depth, the smooth paint surface and the hydrophobic effect. In addition, I am no longer using car shampoo, pipe water is more than enough for a clean wash. Shameful to say that I hardly wash my car, maybe once a month (shhh...) by a professional car wash center and perhaps DIY once in a quarter, it is still in good condition as shown above. You might observe that there is also no swirl marks on the car body, no special care for that but just micro fiber cloth with pipe water from top-down sequence.

There is a little blemish though...

It is susceptible to watermarks like any other similar products. This is likely due to half-covered roof at car porch. No biggie to me as car surface is well protected and still looks glossy. I have also scheduled my annual touch up session (free for first year) with Ceramic Pro. Darren, the shop owner will touch up the area, apply the newer version of the coat and assured that the enhanced formula will be more watermarks resistant. I am confident with his words, and definitely with the product! :) Darren also shared that the latest formula no longer requires annual rejuvenation.

Google Ceramic Pro yourself, you will find many positive reviews about this product. My rationale is why send your car to a car detailer that carries unknown / unproven /  OEM product with a gimmicky localized name than a globally recognized product like Ceramic Pro? Pay once only for the entire tenure of your possession on the lovely ride. Protect the original paint than thinning the paint layer with polishes. The sum of few times polish/wax that yields only temporary gloss effect is easily comparable to the price you pay for Ceramic Pro, not to forget the time saved. It's a highly recommended product with awesome customer service from the team like Ben. Do check out their Facebook for more info.

Before I close out, let me disclose that Darren and I (and few other friends who coated their car too) are now friend after our deal. We realized that we have mutual friend (uni-mate) when we connect in Facebook. What a small world. Though we're friend, I earn nothing from sharing my experience on Ceramic Pro, but you may try to ask for discount by showing this post. :)
