Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 P6800 ICS Upgrade

Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich has been officially released (for other countries) for quite some times. Finally it reached the Malaysian shore...

You will get that prompt when you go to Settings - About Device - Software Update. Make sure you're connected to WiFi, the download is 470MB. Click download to begin the upgrade process...

Follow the on screen instruction to complete the upgrade process. The device will reboot to complete the upgrade. While rebooting, you will see the Android follow by follow by this screen...

Pray hard now. You're doomed when you stuck at this screen for more than 10 minutes. This means the brick bug that I posted earlier has finally come to haunt you, if this is first time happens to you. No surprise that this happened to me when I performed the upgrade since my replacement board came with similar bugged eMMC chip.

2 options to revive the unit:
  1. Use ODIN desktop or mobile ODIN to recover.
  2. Send it back to Samsung service center.
I picked the second option since mine is still under warranty and requested the technician to upgrade for me...

Again, I can't stress more, be prepared for buggy Korean products. Oppa Korean Bug!
