Rock Light & Cool Case for SGT7.7 P6800

Very often you don't just buy only the gadget, you have to spare some money for its accessories as well. For a phone or tablet, very common that screen protector and protective case are the next immediate accessories you buy, perhaps storage card as well.

So am I for my first tablet, the Tab7.7. I have my micro SD card ready before my purchase and I bought the so called "Samsung Genuine OEM" screen protector along with the tablet from Samsung Mid Valley, the brand is AUC laying on the left side...

I was charged RM98 for that thin piece of sheet. I was skeptical due to its price but was happy with the result, the sheet does not compromise or degrade the AMOLED display.

What about the case? I am a minimalist. If possible, I just want the Tab to be bare bone, light and easy but it's too prone to fall and break especially my nieces will also be using it for YouTube and games. And I want them to watch YouTube distantly, not holding close to the eyes, therefore I need a case that can stand by its own, perhaps something like the Apple's Smart Case. I finally found one after much time spent on the net to look for a perfect one...

The Rock's Light & Cool Case. Some of the features...

Vertical view for youtubing, horizontal for angry-birding. Looks cool. The inner is not plastic (including the 4 edges locking the Tab) but some suede-feel fabric (so no worry over scratches to Tab due to friction)...

There is an elastic strap at the back...

It's to hold/lock the front cover when you flip it over to the front...

This is very well thought as Tab does not come with magnet to hold the cover like the iPad.

Put it onto the Tab...

Perfect fit with all buttons and camera are accessible. Now in different postures for different purposes...

Youtubing, angry-birding and reading. I am happy with it and recommend it if you're looking for a case.

It might be hard to find it locally in Malaysia and I was quoted RM158 in Low Yat for the similar case. I then decided to get it from this eBay seller (eBay ID estore4u2011). I actually found him in Lelong.com (search dinasour09, his user ID) with lower price but he's not verified in Lelong.com, I rather paid a little RM5 extra in eBay using Paypal.

One side note before I end, it appears that China products like to provide some sort of authenticity check these days. There's a number on the package and scratch off security seal you get a long numeric key to check if your item is genuine...

Go to Rock website and click Anti-forgery Inquiry link, enter the 18-digit key and you will get result like below if you case is genuinely from Rock...
