Deadly Golden Loaf

No body could resist golds. If you were rewarded gold bars with no condition attached, could you resist them? The more the merrier, but there is something in same color that you may want to think twice before you take more...

The deadly golden loaf, the durian.

Moreover, these are the well known "Musang King" 猫山王 or Fox King (is musang called fox in English?) except those grains in the white container which is Tika 竹脚 or bamboo foot or leg.

It's one of the weekends that a group of durian fanatics drove a big giant 7-seater to Bentong, a small town which has large hectors of durian orchard, to look for king of fruits. This durian season just came in time, I missed the durian season in Penang and now it's the season of Bentong durians. No photos this round as we were excited and kiasu to fight for durians with those durian hawkers whom come to the stall with trucks! I guess soon I will pay another visit before I head to kiasu island next month for a gadget exhibition. Or another "durian hunt" with waterfall trip would be a plus!

Now some up close shots of Musang King...

And the Tika...

My taste bud prefers Musang King which is bitter sweet whereas Tika is creamy sweet or Malays described it as "lemak". My all time favorite Udang Merah 红虾 or red prawn wasn't available yet. Hopefully I could get hold on "red prawns" next visit. But Musang King is good enough to spoil my cousin's tongue already, I certainly believe she would never look at durian kampung, D24, D101 Dxxx next time when she craved for durians. Her tongue is now pampered with "classier" durians. Hehe...

But, but, but, the more of this golden fruit, the more things need to worry: cholesterol, body heat, sicknesses and what not. Hai~ good thing always a double edge sword, the tastier the food is, the deadlier health issue you have to watch out. But who cares, can I be ignorant for just a few moments in my life? Life is short, I don't want to live my life but want to enjoy my life to the maximum ;)
