Extraordinary Return Route From Ipoh Ep 2

Where to lunch? Since it's only ~8km away from the tin dredge, we headed to Tanjung Tualang to hunt for local specialty.

A very small town. From MFM, I found a recommended restaurant, Sun Swee Kiong...

There is a car park beside the restaurant and the business hour on the board...

Notice the big shrimp on the board? Also notice the aquariums hiding behind the board?

These are the "victims" in the aquarium and would be served on the table soon...

Exactly like the image on the board, the udang galah, the fresh water prawns.

Within 15 minutes after order, the prawns were served...

11 of them weighed 600g. Without further delay, ladies and gentlemen, start your engine...

Peeled the shell...

If you throw away the head, you are really big head prawn 大头虾. Look at the reddish paste...

Lovely! Someone would remind me "wei, high cholesterol ah!". Eat first, die later. Life is to enjoy, not to wait for the time to die. :P

Those who know me would surprise, I peel prawn!! Ya, I am actually a lazy butt, I don't eat prawns with shell (but I like crabs! Hehe...). This time is exception, so you could imagine how good the prawns were. The texture was definitely something unique and way different from the prawns we normally eat in restaurants in other places. It's really really different. Must try!

There were other specialties like "soon hock" fish (I don't know the proper English name) that would only cost you around RM70-80 for a kilogram and fresh water eel. Ask the manager for recommendation on how to cook. As mentioned, Ming Court dim sum still in the stomach, so we made a pass this round. Sad~

We left the town after a fulfilling lunch, you could stay for a while to shop nearby the wet market, there's pasar tani or rather properly called "few stalls along the same street" selling some local delights. I stopped my shooting (laziness kicked in) after lunch, so no photo shoot after the prawn meal at the pasar tani and when at Sitiawan and Lumut. Well, that's a good excuse to call for another trip, right? I had few when we arrived at Teluk Intan but 2 of the "key" photos were corrupted during file transfer. Damn! So I will keep the rest until the next trip to recapture (hopefully) and blog later.

Along the journey heading south back to my hometown, the greenish by the road side and bluish in the far sky really soothed the mind....

Doesn't it look like Windows XP default wallpaper? Hehe... It also reminds me my Australia trip 2 years back when driving on the country roads and Great Ocean Road.

There supposes to have a group trip planned for such visit, I guess very likely it would not happen. Perhaps over a weekend I would just rather hop on a ride with a friend whose home town is in Sitiawan than waiting for the group trip. Next stop perhaps I would like to have a bird watching session and may be a home stay.

Above is the route I planned. From Ipoh town --> Perak Herbs Garden --> Kellie's Castle --> Tin Dredge Heritage --> Tanjung Tualang. You can use the same route return to Ipoh or exit to E1 NSE. I used the A112 --> E19 Ipoh-Lumut --> Teluk Intan-Sitiawan route to reach Lumut. Download latest MFM (click on the link on the right) and you can find all places in the map.

Extraordinary Return Route From Ipoh Ep 1

NSE, North South Expressway, commonly known as PLUS highway is no stranger to Malaysian. It's the highway that links Northern to Southern of Malaysia, from Bukit Kayu Hitam to Johor Bahru. This is the common route majority uses to travel north or south, it just tax you for 2-hour route to reach Ipoh, the food heaven.

Nope, I am not gonna blog on Ipoh food, too many floggers blog about it, or may be next time if I found something extraordinary. Instead of Ipoh food, I want to be extraordinary to blog about the tourist spots in Ipoh and instead of taking the NSE route to return from Ipoh, I took the extraordinary route back to my hometown. Why so many extraordinary? I simply use extraordinary because this word is very popular these days i.e. Extraordinary General Meeting EGM. Hehe...

By help of MFM map, I planned the route to pass through few tourist spots (indeed, really very few around Ipoh) in Ipoh that I have never been before. The first one was Perak Herbs Garden or Taman Herba Perak. Very funny, it was closed, a tourist spot closed on weekend! Well, this could be the outcome of 2 different state governments - both busy killing "frogs" in the garden. Anyway, we moved on to another spot which is located on the same road but opposite direction...

The Kellie's Castle.

Nothing extraordinary about the building but its history is something interesting to read. I like its location, in particular it is at a hill with a river in front of the building, and very greenish surrounding. Few shots with the Jack Bond phone...

There's entrance fee of RM4 per pax. Cheap and I hope the site maintainer uses the $$ wisely to maintain the building properly, there were already few "bat men" habituated in the building...

With their faeces on the timber floor...

But who knows one of them was Kellie spirit...

There's also a tree labeled as "bear tree"...

People always say Ipoh produces many leng luis and I thought now Ipoh also produces koala bears, apparently it was the trunk that has something looks like a bear face...

After a 20 minutes stop at Kellie's Castle, we restarted the journey to return home, heading to Lumut-Sekinchan direction. On the way, we dropped by another tourist spot, the tin dredge museum...

As you can see, the gate was locked. Again, may be too many "frogs" in the dredge or the state government is still struggling what car to buy, Toyota Camry or Toyota Zambry.

That's the end of the tour in or surrounding Ipoh. A bit disappointed with the tourism board, that could be the result of the political instability in the state. Sigh.

It's lunch time, we needed a place for a good lunch, our stomach still filled with Ming Court's dim sum though.

To be continued...

Jacko da Porn Director

I have been dreaming to be a porn director for long. This dream started when I knew I would have potential male actor to cast in my virgin movie upon ET's return. No worries on female actor, the "manager" of the female actor was hornier than anyone else, wanted the female actor to break her virginal first time.

However, the schedule could not sync for 2 actors, errr, for the actor's managers to be exact, until yesterday. And this was the first time for everyone, the male and female actors, the managers and the porn director. Let's see the outcome...

Wow! "Side entrance"! First time ever we saw such "doggie style". Very creative the male actor! LoL.

Of course the mission failed. Why? Inexperience male actor, jubjub and selling high by the virgin female actor, foxy. Both just didn't know how to start even with some "guides", jubjub just kept on trying "side entrance". Well, first time, never mind, next time should be better. Hehe...

Too bad, the managers have to wait for the next round before they could gain $$ from the babies. Perhaps, jubjub's manager need to show jubjub some porn movies as training, and perhaps jubjub needs to be a little "SM" to "rape" foxy. :P

My Mega Project

Cloudy weather. Good weather to have a walk outside of air-conditioned room. I have been lazy-butted myself comfortably in front of my monitor for FB games and TV for Astro on Demand. These days few house warming invitations from friends and everybody starts asking when is the completion of my Mega Project, so I thought it is good time with good weather to have the very first progress update on my Mega Project.

Let's move to the construction site...

Opps, unpaved road. Gotta be cautious, safety first.

Hmmm... Which is my Mega Project? Here it's...

Visually, it looks like it's more than 50% complete. However, financially, the developer only asked 35% of progressive payment thus far.

No photo for interior as there were engineers and site supervisors inspecting the progress too, I was advised not to disrupt their visit. Correct correct correct, inspect betul betul to make sure my house is built with tip top quality. :)

That's all for now. House warming now, it's time for barbecue. Yum yum! :)

Jacko.MY 1st Year Anniversary

Jacko.MY just passed its 1st year anniversary. Don't ask me the exact day, I don't remember until I received a reminder from the domain registrar on renewal. From the reminder, Jacko.MY should celebrate its 1 year old birthday on 19 July 2009. Opps, it's been 2 months ago. Ya, that's how busy I am these days, typical workaholic when the enthusiasm on work is on its peak. I have been neglectful about my surrounding, my bad if you feel that, including Jacko.MY.

How did I land on Jacko.MY? As mentioned a year ago, jacko.com was #1 preference but someone has grabbed it long ago. Instead of jacko.cc, jacko.info, jacko.whatever I like Jacko.MY since I am from this Bulleh Land and it is definitely "mine" (my). Hehe...

Upon the renewal notification, I thought of register other domain and checked if jacko.com was available for registration. Of course it's only for fun, changing a domain name is not favorable especially the site has big followers, not that Jacko.MY has a big fan base though :") Hehe... Too bad jacko.com still has its owner holding it. Looking at Jacko.MY favicon...

I got a new idea to try on a cooler domain name.

There are 2 basic ways to verify if a domain is owned by anyone, first of course is to browse to the site directly, for instance, type www.jacko.my and hit enter. Hopeless if you see a web page. The alternative is to use any WHOIS (who is...) service such as this site or this for .my domains. I did a search on jk.com using WHOIS and the result was not something I desired, it's registered but no owner info revealed by WHOIS. Sigh~ Then I went to www.jk.com to check if any website was setup, I was then presented...

Ok, not really an owner, but a domain parker who registered the domain to make quick money when somebody offers to buy the domain. Profitable business? Of course. I remember ages ago there were cases where somebody registered the domain of a well known brand i.e. nike.com and the company needed to pay millions to buy back from that smartie. How much is a domain? Typically it's from USD$9.99 or even USD$0.99 per annum sometimes. Good money huh? If you think ahbeng.com or ahlian.com or any name which is going to be a global brand, go register one to become millionaire the quickest way.

I then saw a link at the top right "jk.com is for sale", I clicked on it and scrolled to look for the price for jk.com...

My jaw dropped from my room to the kitchen at the ground floor!! My friends used to address me as JK in email, now I know I at least worth USD$750 grand. Hehe...

Anyway, no change to Jacko.MY and I am pretty confident it's gonna stay forever until I die, or until I am broke to pay for renewal.

Happy belated birthday Jacko.MY!

Belly Good

Warn you, this is a high risk post if you are a pork lover. High risk to your belly that you may get a good round solid belly after meal, high risk to your image that the food is too good, you get too excited and perform a belly dance in the restaurant.

If you decide to proceed, let's get into the pork lover's paradise...

I personally like the logo...

Cute and creative that the gender is clearly differentiated by the ribbon (or bow tie) position.

The starter...

The MUST order, grilled pork belly on the menu...

The real dish...

The pork chop on the menu...

The good-but-not-so-impressive real pork chop plate...

The sausage platter to tempt you...

The real serving really made me drooled...

Some other dishes including the platter combi of belly, pork chop, rib and sausage...

Don't be skeptical by the darkish, the dark sause is really nice. And the bacon noodle...

Finally the dessert, ice cream with caramel apple...

If you are pork cum wine lover, the restaurant has some good wine for you to choose...

Don't miss this restaurant. You will regret for your whole life.

Here is the location...

N3 04.609 E101 36.766, Jalan PJS 8/18 or find Bellygood in MFM. It used to be called Wendy's Bistro but received a legal warning from the big company who owned Wendy's chained restaurant in this Bulleh Land.

And here's other helpful details or go to the website to find out more.

I know some may yell at me 'cause this post should be out half a year ago when they celebrated my birthday in this restaurant. Hehe... Many thanks to the organizer, really a good event and recommendation!
