Last Day of CNY, the Chap Goh Meh

Today is Chap Goh Meh, the 15th and the last day of CNY. It's also the Chinese Valentine's Day and a match making day that singles gather at river or sea or lake or pond for "throw mandarin orange" event like what was posted over here. This year the Chap Goh Meh isn't any special, I remember there was a year that Western Valentine's Day was on the same day with Chinese Valentine's Day. Next year, perhaps a bit special where 1st day of CNY will fall on 14 Feb 2010. If your another is not from the same kampung, you may want to start thinking of the best way to celebrate it, since traditionally you have to stay with your family on the first day of CNY. Think ahead now. Hehe...

But, I did not intend to blog about this Valentine thingy. In fact, I am trying to talk about my "CNY business", realistically. No business, no $$ then how to celebrate Valentine's Day, right? Hehe...

Let's look at my "business outcome"...

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9... Two-O-O-Nine I got only nine ang paus! A huge reduction in quantity (number of ang pau I received)! More than 50% reduction, the impact of global economy recession :(

What about "quality" (RM amount in the red packet)?

Individually (count each ang pau separately), I still received "ISO certified quality angpau". Hehe... but few dropped in "quality". Overall, the "quality" dropped almost 40%. I even received warning, "eh! When you want to stop receiving?!" LoL.

Now I really hit by the impact of economy down turn. May be I shall plan a strategy next year on how to maximize my "business return" in this economy hard time. Hehe...

Oh, by the way, if I have not greeted you, allow me to say so on the last day of CNY: Happy Chinese New Year and Gong Xi Fatt Chai!
